Chateau de Chamirey is one of the best known estates of the commune and is run by the Devillard family. La Mission is a monopole, meaning the whole climat belongs to a single owner, which is uncommon at premier cru level anywhere in Burgundy. Mercurey has more than thirty premier crus, and while most are planted to Pinot Noir, a few are given over to Chardonnay.
