The hills here are higher and more broken than the Cote d'Or and the vineyards face in many directions, which is why individual sites matter. Chateau de Chamirey is one of the best known estates of the commune and is run by the Devillard family. A clos is a vineyard enclosed by a wall, a boundary usually drawn centuries ago because the site was thought worth marking out.
