This cuvée, named for François Labet's grandfather, comes from the oldest vines in the holding, planted in 1910, the same parcel that supplies most of the fruit for the Vieilles Vignes bottling. The difference is the picking: only the first bunch on the first shoot of each vine is harvested. Furthest from the apical bud and closest to the trunk, these bunches sit on less vigorous shoots and are smaller and more intensely flavoured. The first Hommage was made in 2010 to mark the plot's centenary and was intended as a one-off; it is now released whenever the vintage allows.
