The range has been streamlined and the wines have gained in refinement as a result. What the estate offers is southern fruit and southern warmth handled with Burgundian technique, and this Syrah is a straightforward demonstration of it. There is no oak: the wine is raised in concrete, which keeps the fruit forward and the texture supple. Red berries and cherry lead into a silky, vibrant palate with very fine tannins and a core of freshness that stops short of being austere. It is an unfussy wine and it is priced as one.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady now and good for three or four years.
