This bottling is drawn from the younger vines, up to about 25 years old, and from parcels on the more fertile soils at the foot of the property, which is why it carries the humbler Côtes du Rhône name. It is made in the same way as the grand vin: whole-bunch pressing, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, then a year's ageing split evenly between stainless steel and neutral 228-litre barrels, followed by six months' rest in tank before bottling. The result is more generous and more open in its youth than the Château-Grillet cuvée while keeping the tightly wound, saline character of the terroir.

Drink over the next five to eight years with roast chicken, scallops or a mild curry; serve at 10–12°C.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
