André Lurton bought the run-down property in 1965 and restored both house and vineyard, making it the flagship of a family holding that grew to take in several Pessac-Léognan estates. Lurton was also the driving force behind the creation of the Pessac-Léognan appellation in 1987, which separated the best of the northern Graves from the wider region.
