The Laudet family bought the domaine in 1820 and now farms it in its eighth generation. Aged Armagnac from here is bottled cask by cask rather than blended to a consistent profile, so each release carries the character of its own barrel and season. The wine is distilled in the domaine's 1923 wood-fired copper still, and the spirit is then matured in Chêne Noir Gascon, 410-litre barrels coopered from oak grown in the neighbouring Landes forest; the thick grain of that wood gives the tannin and spice that mark the house style.
