The Abeille-Fabre family has run it since 1923. Le Plateau is the estate's white parcel selection, taken from the plateau itself where the covering of galets roulés is deepest and the vines root down through them into clay. It is made from only two varieties rather than the full permitted set, here 57 per cent Clairette and 43 per cent Grenache Blanc, Clairette giving the line and the acidity, Grenache Blanc the flesh. Production is small and the wine is built to be cellared rather than drunk on release.

Powerful and tightly wound, it needs food and rewards a few years in bottle, suiting lobster, veal and aged hard cheese; serve at around 12 degrees.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
