The Abeille-Fabre family has run it since 1923. Lirac sits across the river from Châteauneuf, north of Tavel, on terraces of galets and sandy limestone, and it is one of the few southern Rhône crus to make white, red and rosé under the same name. Mont-Redon has owned vineyard there for decades and treats it as a serious appellation rather than an overflow.
