Château Poujeaux holds a large block of that gravel and was long regarded as one of the two leading properties of the commune, ranked Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel before the classification was reformed; the Cuvelier family, owners of Clos Fourtet in Saint-Émilion, have since taken over the estate and invested steadily in vineyard and cellar.
