Terrefort-Lescalle sits at Macau, between Margaux and the city, and shares ownership with Château Maucamps in the Haut-Médoc. The soils are the sand and gravel over heavy clay that give the name terrefort, and the planting follows the usual Médoc pattern, with Merlot taking the larger share and Cabernet Sauvignon providing the frame.
