Tronquoy Lalande sits on a gravel rise immediately behind Montrose, looking out over the Gironde, and belongs to the Bouygues family, managed by the same team that runs its more famous neighbour. That arrangement has brought a steady replanting of the vineyard and a rebuilt cellar, with picking by hand, sorting on tables and fermentation plot by plot in temperature-controlled vats.
