Tradition sits in the middle of the Tesseron range and draws on reserves with distillations going back to the mid-1970s, matured in Limousin oak. The colour is a striking copper. The nose is intensely fragrant, with roasted nuts, wood spice, leatherwood honey and baked pear, while the palate is deep and viscous, running to Bosc pear, almond, oloroso sherry and orange peel. The finish is long and warming, with brown sugar, vanilla and a saline edge that keeps the whole thing savoury rather than sweet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink it neat at room temperature, ideally in a tulip glass rather than a balloon.
