The parcel is clay-rich, planted at 4,600 vines per hectare to the 777 clone and managed by Nigel Sowman. Grapes were handpicked, sorted by hand and destemmed before a brisk seven-day ferment with one very gentle pump-over daily, then pressed to two and three-year-old French barrels for thirteen months and seven more in tank. Mike Paterson notes the phenolic structure here has shifted markedly in recent seasons.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePure and pretty, with juicy red fruit flecked by mineral, earth and savoury depth, fine detail throughout and sustained length.
