The vineyard was planted in 2002 at the top of the Brancott Valley, almost in a locality of its own — certified organic under BioGro and farmed biodynamically, on clay-rich soils over greywacke mother rock. Mike Paterson credits the site with exceptional individuality, and it gives him both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGripping and taut, with salivating drive and chalky texture rippling across the palate. There is fruit here, but line and energy are what register. Serve at 12 degrees.
