Alessio Di Majo is the region's leading grower and has a strong reputation at home for characterful regional bottlings. The fruit here is grown organically on the estate's sloping Ramitello vineyard. Montepulciano supplies the black plum fruit and the flesh, while Aglianico brings a more brooding, savoury, olive-inflected edge and firms up the structure. Acidity holds the sun-ripened fruit in balance and the tannins are fine-grained and persistent rather than heavy, which keeps the wine at a medium weight.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink now and over the next four years.
