This wine was originally bottled under the name of Emmanuelle Mellot, sister of Alphonse Jr; since she left to start her own project it has appeared under the domaine label. The parcel is 1.8 hectares of 40-year-old vines at Saint-Laurent-l’Abbaye, a village best known in the wine world as the source of Dagueneau’s Pur Sang. Farming is biodynamic, hand-tended and low-cropped, exactly as for the family’s Sancerre, and the winemaking follows a similar thread, though here half the juice ferments in stainless steel and the remainder in used tronconique oak casks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady now and holding for four or five years.
