The white clay and limestone soils here tend to give raciness, bright red fruit and a fine, powdery structure rather than weight. Jobard farms 1.4 hectares but is currently replanting most of it with massal-selection cuttings, so only a fraction is in production; the parcel in play is the historic Clos des Montrevenots, where the vines are 45 years old. All the grapes were destemmed and given a week-long cold soak before fermentation. There is very little new oak and the wine is bottled after 12 months on lees, which suits a Beaune made for purity and freshness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinkable young and good for six to eight years.
