domaine-antoine-jobard-bourgogne-rouge-2023
Domaine Antoine Jobard Bourgogne Rouge 2023

Domaine Antoine Jobard Bourgogne Rouge is effectively a declassified Pommard, blended from four lieux-dits below the village.

Antoine Jobard is best known for tightly wound Meursault, so a red at regional level is a recent addition to the range. The four sites, L'Aumônne, Taupe Maison Dieu, En la Taupe and Les Crenilles, all lie below the village of Pommard on the flatter ground that falls outside the village appellation, and together cover 1.5 hectares; a further hectare was pulled out and replanted in 2024. The picking and the vinification are geared towards brightness and perfume rather than extraction, with the aim, as Jobard puts it himself, of digestibility. That means whole-berry handling, gentle work during fermentation and restrained use of oak, producing a Burgundy meant for the table rather than the cellar.

Drink over the next three to five years, with charcuterie, roast chicken or grilled mushrooms. Serve at 15-17°C.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
