Antoine Jobard's holdings here are not large. The greater part comes from Les Petits Noizons, a south-east-facing site on the upper slope above the Premier Cru band, while the evocatively named Rue au Porc sits lower down beside the D974 as it runs through the village. Across the parcels the vines average around fifty years of age, which shows in the concentration of the fruit. The domaine destems and works with restrained extraction and little new oak, an approach that has brought a good deal more finesse to the reds in recent years than Pommard is traditionally given credit for.

Give it two or three years and drink over the following decade. Serve at 16-18°C with braised beef, venison or a hard alpine cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
