Camille Thiriet's plot lies within the larger Le Clos de Magny climat, at 350 metres near the top of the slope, on very rocky ground. The vineyard is surrounded by forest and partly shaded for much of the day, which Thiriet regards as an advantage in warmer seasons. A mass of large boulders runs through the soil just below the surface. Between the shade, the stone and the altitude, the vines set tiny berries in small, loose bunches, and it is that fruit character which allows fermentation with 100 per cent whole bunches without the wine becoming stalky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink over the next eight years, with duck, roast veal or a mushroom and barley dish.
