{"product_id":"domaine-charvin-cotes-du-rhone-damon-2023","title":"Domaine Charvin Côtes du Rhône Damon 2023","description":"\u003cp\u003eDomaine Charvin Côtes du Rhône Damon is a Grenache-based red from a family estate on the northern boundary of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eLaurent Charvin farms around twenty hectares at Maucoil, on the northern edge of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and the Côtes du Rhône vineyards sit just outside the cru line on comparable ground of sand, clay and rolled pebbles. The family has held land here since the eighteenth century and began bottling under its own name only in the 1990s, having sold in bulk before that. The vineyards are worked organically, with old bush vine Grenache making up the bulk of the plantings and Syrah, Carignan and Mourvèdre completing them. The winemaking is deliberately plain: whole berry fermentation, no new oak at any stage, and ageing in concrete tank and old foudre so the fruit and the stony ground come through unmediated.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMedium bodied and open textured, it is a wine for grilled meats, charcuterie and tomato based dishes; serve lightly cooled at around 16 degrees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
