The fruit for Les Griottes comes from 40-year-old vines on dark granite soils around the family homestead. Where the domaine’s Moulin-à-Vent and Fleurie are made to age, this wine is aimed squarely at light to medium-bodied, bright and cherry-fruited drinking. The winemaking has not changed in decades: traditional whole-bunch, semi-carbonic fermentation in concrete tanks, then maturation in tank and old oak casks. The five-litre format holds the equivalent of nearly seven bottles and, because the bag collapses as the wine is drawn off, keeps what remains fresh for several weeks after opening.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink over the next year or so.
