Pré Jourdan is a recent acquisition, sitting where Morgon meets Fleurie, and the vines are around 70 years old. The soils are predominantly granitic sand, as in Bouland’s Corcelette parcels, but they run deeper here, and the result is a fleshier and more overtly aromatic Morgon than the domaine’s other cuvées. The parcel is small enough that the wine fills just one large cask, a relatively young Rousseau foudre, so the raising is entirely neutral. Expect succulent strawberry and cherry-scented fruit carried by a slick of fine, silky tannins and a long, perfumed finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and holding for six to eight years.
