The site is a steep, concave amphitheatre on hard, rocky ground in the narrowest band of the Côte, close to the forest above Prémeaux, and it produces one of the most delicate and perfumed reds in the whole of the Côte de Nuits. Despite the Nuits-Saint-Georges on the label the wine has more in common with Chambolle than with its neighbours to the north, and it is markedly more ethereal than the nearby Clos des Forêts. The 2023 was made from entirely destemmed fruit, fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and aged for fifteen months in French oak, 40 per cent of it new.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinks well young from a decanter and will repay decades in the cellar.
