The domaine has long made its Fixin from a 0.32-hectare parcel in Champs Pennebaut, midway up the slope on the Marsannay side of the village. About a decade ago the family added a plot of sixty- to seventy-year-old vines in Les Champs de Charmes, at the southern end of Fixin on the Gevrey boundary, and since 2014 the two have been blended. Both sites have the classic clay and limestone of the Côte d’Or, though the soils in the north are considerably darker. Around 70 per cent whole bunches were included, partly because the tiny berries these vines produce lend themselves to it, and new oak was kept low.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinks well from three or four years and holds for a dozen.
