Village wine from a grower of this standing is not a lesser article but a matter of scale: the same farming and the same cellar, applied to parcels outside the classified slopes. Bernard Dugat-Py and his son Loïc work from cellars in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, part of which occupy a medieval tithe building. The domaine is small, farmed organically and known for severe crop levels. The vines behind this bottling are of considerable age, which keeps crops naturally small.
