Vincent Dureuil-Janthial draws this estate bottling from several parcels in the Côte de Nuits, principally in the communes of Prémeaux, where he has around half a hectare, and Puligny, with a further 0.34 hectares. The average vine age is now over 40 years, which shows in the concentration and the length. The fruit is entirely destemmed and the wine raised with one-third new barrels, giving a little spice and grip without smothering the Pinot Noir. The result carries more flavour and personality than the label implies, and sits closer in style to a village wine than to a typical regional bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable now and good for five years or so.
