The average age of the vines is now over forty years, unusual for a wine at this level, and it accounts for much of the density here. The fruit was entirely destemmed and the wine raised with one-third new barrels, a more ambitious élevage than most regional Bourgogne receives. Dureuil's touch with Pinot Noir is a light one for all that, with a pre-ferment cold soak used to draw perfume and supple tannin rather than weight. Only 72 bottles came to Australia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReady on release and good for five or six years.
