Vincent Dureuil has been the district's leading name for two decades, farming organically and working with a precision more often associated with the grander communes to the north. This village white comes from La Martelle, La Bergerie, En Guesnes, Chaponnière and the younger vines of Le Meix Cadot. The average vine age is over forty years, with the oldest approaching a hundred — a remarkable figure for the region and a large part of the wine's concentration. It is vinified entirely in barrel, with 20 per cent new oak, mostly from the cooper Chassin. The result carries far more chalky tension and flesh than the village level usually delivers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink over the next five to eight years.
