Les Referts sits at the northern end of Puligny's premier crus, beside Les Combettes and pressed against the Meursault border, on thin soils over hard limestone. Sites like this are usually said to give a wine with a foot in both villages. The fruit is whole-bunch pressed and the wine raised in oak barrels, with new wood kept in check.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a wine for the table rather than the aperitif, and suits roast poultry, scallops, veal or a firm mountain cheese.
