Barthod’s vines here are over forty-five years old and the holding is only 0.19 hectares, making this one of the rarest cuvées at an address where almost nothing is made in quantity. It is habitually the most muscular wine of the range and normally asks for the longest wait in the cellar, though the more gentle extraction practised by Clement Barthod in recent years has produced a rounder, more immediately seductive version of the site.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFirm young; five to eight years will suit it and it should hold for twenty.
