This is arguably the most picturesque vineyard of the area: a south to southeast-facing slope of almost pure limestone, planted to vines now over forty years old. That limestone gives the wine its mineral backbone, though it lacks nothing for opulence either. The Goisots consider the terroir close in character to the Chablis premier cru Vaillons, while noting that the wine has more of a white Burgundy personality than a Chablis one.
