The vineyard faces south to south-east and its soil is close to pure limestone, which gives the wine its mineral spine without stripping it of flesh; the vines are more than forty years old. The Goisots draw a comparison with the Chablis premier cru Vaillons, though this has more of a broad white Burgundy personality than that reference suggests.
