Guilhem Goisot farms the family holdings biodynamically and bottles his sites separately. Le Court Vit lies in the north of Saint-Bris and has belonged to the family for centuries, though the vines were pulled out around sixty years ago and the land given to an uncle. Goisot repurchased it roughly fifteen years ago and replanted it mostly to Chardonnay with 30 per cent Pinot Noir, reflecting how the site would have been planted in earlier times. The vineyard is rocky and southwest-facing on a Kimmeridgian slope, with white clay across the Chardonnay parcel and brown clay under the Pinot Noir. There is only about 50 centimetres of topsoil, but a spring beneath the vines keeps water within reach, which Goisot credits for the generosity of the wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and good for another four or five years.
