The vineyard is planted to a mix of Chenin Blanc and old-vine Cabernet Franc. One hectare of the Chenin is leased to Brendan Stater-West, Romain Guiberteau's right-hand man, and the remainder goes into the domaine's Saumur Blanc, but it is the 1948-planted Cabernet Franc that is the prize here. As across the range, the reds are handled with restraint, destemmed and raised in used Burgundian barrels so the limestone site rather than the wood sets the shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable from two to three years and good for a decade or more.
