The vines are mostly at Montreuil-Bellay, with a useful proportion of old-vine fruit from a recently acquired parcel on the Brézé hill, and their age spans 10 to 80 years. The winemaking is deliberately spare: a short five-day maceration and élevage in stainless steel only, with no wood at any stage, so the wine reaches bottle with its fruit intact and its frame light. The aim is a supple, accessible Saumur at a lower price than the village bottling, and the domaine describes this release as suppler and less angular than the one before it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink over the next three to five years.
