Domaine Henri Germain, now run by Jean-François Germain in Meursault, is better known for white wine, but the reds have been reworked in recent years towards a fresher, more tightly drawn style. The parcel here was planted between 1960 and 1965 and sits high on the hill, adjoining David Croix's vines. It is the deepest of the domaine's reds, but it keeps the sappy, finely structured character that marks the current approach in the cellar, with restrained extraction and modest use of new oak.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGive it two or three years and drink over the following decade.
