Germain's parcel lies in the upper section of Le Poruzot Dessus, beneath the Narvaux terroir, and came to the family through Jean-François Germain's father-in-law, François Jobard. Antoine Jobard is therefore both his brother-in-law and his neighbour in the vineyard, and both wines are shipped by Bibendum, which makes for an unusually direct comparison. The house style at Germain runs to whole-bunch pressing, barrel fermentation with a restrained share of new oak and a long, quiet élevage on lees. The result recalls the domaine's Limozin but with greater depth and more layers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBest from three or four years and good for a decade or more.
