It is a rocky hillside site bordering the Puligny premier cru of Champ Gain and sitting above Montrachet, literally on the Mont-Rachet, though standing in it the vineyard feels higher, more sheltered and wilder than either of its neighbours. Lamy’s vines were planted in 1985 and are consistently affected by millerandage, which cuts yields and adds opulence. He farms only 0.25 hectares, so quantities are very small. Despite the altitude the wine is always fleshy and deep, and it is the most hedonistic of the domaine’s Saint-Aubins, though never short of chalky mineral grip.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGenerous from three years and holding twelve or more.
