Huet bought the steep, rocky eight-hectare vineyard in 1957, and it sits on the Première Côte, the bank of limestone-rich hillside overlooking Tours. The argilo-siliceux soils, with less clay and more stone than Le Haut-Lieu, give the tight structure and pungent minerality the site is known for, and typically the nerviest wines in the Huet range. Moelleux, pronounced mweh-luh, means marrow-like, and Huet’s wines at this level usually carry between 40 and 60 g\/L residual sugar, made mostly from grapes dried on the vine by passerillage rather than from botrytis. The style is fine and delicate, closer in weight to a great Mosel than to Sauternes. Bottled at 375ml.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking now but capable of decades in the cellar.
