The clos sits directly behind the family house and cellars, enclosed by a two-metre stone wall, and belongs solely to the Jaeger-Defaix family. Yields are held down by severe pruning, disbudding and a green harvest, and the bunches are sorted by hand so that only the best clusters go into the vat. The wine spent twelve months in oak barrels, of which ten per cent were new, then settled in tank before bottling.
