Its heart is the Grand Pierre sector, sandy ground carrying Grenache planted around the turn of the twentieth century, and the domaine's reputation rests on the perfume and lift that sand gives rather than on weight. Sand warms quickly but holds little, so the vines crop lightly and the wines come out fragrant and fine boned by the standards of the southern Rhône.
