The soil here is deep bleu d’argile, the blue clay of the district, with a good deal of loose limestone rock through it, and the cru has a reputation for textbook Chablis: mineral, driven and long. Moreau-Naudet, the Chablis domaine now in the hands of Virginie Moreau, farms 0.65 hectares split between the lieux-dits Les Monts Mains, Les Bouts des Butteaux and Vaux Miolot. Vaux Miolot sits on deeper clay, is awkward to work, and contributes flesh and texture to the finished blend. This release was fermented and aged with no oak whatsoever, a choice made to protect freshness, and the wine carries the depth of the site while staying taut and balanced through a long finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking now and good for six to eight years.
