The story told locally is that it was ranked as a premier cru before the AOC boundaries were drawn, then largely abandoned during the war for want of labour, and so missed out when the classification was finally settled. Whatever the truth of that, the position and the thin, stony soils give a markedly mineral wine. Moreau-Naudet farms 1.8 hectares here, alongside Domaine Servin, with vines averaging more than sixty years and yields held to 15-25 hl\/ha. About 30 per cent of the wine is raised in barrel and the remainder in tank, building a layered, succulent texture without masking the rocky core or the long, saline finish. This is the 1.5-litre magnum.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable on release and capable of five to eight years in the cellar, with the magnum format slowing that further.
