Pitangerets has poorer, stonier ground than the neighbouring Le Charmois, and it usually gives a firmer, more savoury wine, though the gap between the two narrows in riper seasons. Some growers label the same fruit under the adjoining and easier-to-pronounce climat of Les Combes. Pillot is a Chassagne domaine with a settled, restrained cellar approach across its whites, favouring measured lees work and a light hand with new oak.
