The two parcels behind this cuvée, Les Champs Claudes and Les Parons-Dessus, lie close to the domaine's Bourgogne vines on the Chassagne side, where the limestone and clay soils give a rounder shape than Santenay's higher slopes. The vines are around 50 years old, and the fruit was fermented with roughly 20% whole bunches, which contributes spice and lift. Ageing takes place only in large-format neutral oak, so the emphasis stays on perfume and structure rather than barrel character.
