When Pierre Gaillard bought this site he passed up the chance to buy a slice of the now-renowned La Turque vineyard in Côte-Rôtie, a vineyard he had helped to plant, because he judged Clos de Cuminaille the better piece of land. The vines are now over thirty years old.
