When Gaillard bought this three-hectare clos he passed up the chance to buy a slice of the now-renowned La Turque in Côte-Rôtie, a vineyard he had helped plant, because he thought Clos de Cuminaille the better site. The vines are now more than thirty years old. Winemaking is the same as for the estate's regular Saint-Joseph apart from a touch more new oak, a well-integrated quarter in this release.
