Regional Bourgogne Blanc from this part of the Côte de Beaune comes off the lower, flatter ground below the classified slopes, so the difference between an ordinary bottle and a good one lies in vine age, yields and handling. The vines here are more than fifty years old, which gives the wine its depth of flavour and its savoury cast, and only 10 per cent of the oak used in ageing is new, so the wood supports the texture rather than flavouring it. Citrus freshness and a buttered, toasty edge sit together comfortably.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking well now and good for three to five years.
